Hello and welcome back dear readers! I have a ton of stuff lined up in the upcoming weeks and to kick it off, let's start with my NBF Overlordnb review!
First off, there's not much known about NB Factory Toys other than it's a China-based toy manufacturer that makes KO of third party toys. This model, in particular, is an oversized knock-off of the
Iron Factory IF-EX11 Evillord (12cm tall).
- Name: Overlordnb (Overlord)
- Allegiance: n/a (Decepticons)
- Manufacturer: NB Factory Toys/NBF
- Year Released: 2017
- Size: 15cm or 6 inches (>Legends / <Deluxe size)
- Price: Php 700.00
- Retailer: Somewhere in Divisoria...
So I got this set from an online seller that has a spot in Divisoria who is quite famous among local TF collectors. I got it for a pretty good price since I bought him along with
Galvontron and
Megotroun which I will be reviewing up next.
Well I don't dwell much on the character since I already reviewed an official
Overlord and honestly I don't even know if reviewing KOs are generally OK in terms of copyright violations (hopefully not) but I've only seen video reviews so since I'm an advocate of pictorial reviews, here it is.
PACKAGING

The packaging is a pretty straightforward box and has a dual-layered blister packaging inside. What's neat about this is the box art but it was obviously taken from the
IDW Overlord version which this figure and the one it copied (IF-EX11) was based off of.
It's just really weird that they basically gave up on thinking of a name for this figure and just slapped in their company initials in the end then voila - OVERLORDNB!!! Try saying that out loud!
WHAT YOU GET
- Overlordnb figure
- Rifle (1x)
- Swords (2x)
- Extra sinister head (1x)
- Base front ramp (1x)
- Instruction Sheet
ROBOT MODE

The figure stands at 15cm or roughly 6 inches tall. It's size is just right above Legends class figures but below Deluxe class ones. So it doesn't really fit in any scale except the same pocket-sized figures of similar brands like Mech Fans Toys.
At first, I wasn't expecting much in the build and material quality of the figure but I was surprised upon unboxing. The plastic feels very good - not as good as official releases - but heck-a good! It also has some heaviness to it that gives you the feeling that it's not just any goofy knockoff.
NOTE: this figure DOES NOT have any Decepticon decals whatsoever. I just went ahead and placed a Decepticon decal kit I bought online for around $3.00.

He isn't a slack when viewed from any angle. There's some heft to the figure and right off you can see the amount of detail placed into him. Well, the kudos should to to Iron Factory for all the bells and whistles we see on here but I guess we gotta give NBF some sort of credit as well for not sacrificing details.
You can also remove his backpack so you can place it on his left arm later on.

As for articulation, there's an abundance of ball joints but don't expect a wrist and waist swivel. Check out the bottom area later for some action poses.
ALT MODE
Moving on to the alt mode, it's super weird because he looks like an amputee (no offense to amputees).

To start getting into his megajet and gigatank AND base mode alt modes, you have to pull off his legs. Again, I had no expectations coming into this figure so I might as well tell those who don't know yet that this is a
PARTSFORMING figure.
Jet/Shuttle (Upperbody)

In my opinion, the jet looks amazing. It's just frustrating that the arms don't tab to anything making this whole mode unstable, especially if you're unfortunate like me for getting one with a loose arm joint.
Transformation is straightforward and the only weird part here are the leg pegs that you can't hide and act as rear landing gear. YEAH RIGHT. Hehehe!
Tank (Legs)
This is where a lot of the
partsforming is. To start, this is how the legs look like before turning it into a tank.

So from robot mode, you have to remove his shin guards in front and the turbines at the back. You won't need the shin guards for the tank mode and get the rifle ready instead.

The tank is well, err, cute. There are no wheels to get it rolling and the turret doesn't turn. Also, be careful with those fins at the top of the turret because they can easily pop off and you might lose them.
Here they are together...

And now we move on to the...
BASE MODE
Correction: The ULTRA PATHETIC BASE MODE.
From the box art, they look good. But this is the
weirdestmost pathetic base mode I've seen so far especially its transformation method.

So did you see it? First off, they didn't even bother to hide the head. Well I guess logic dictates that unless you're displaying it back-first then that wouldn't be a problem, would it?

Basically, base mode is just parking a bunch of parts together to make it look like a base. It's pathetic because i
t feels like they really just had to do it even if they didn't want to.
In the above photo, for instance, you just put the decks on top of small gaps while the cherry here is just taking the tank/legs apart and just putting them to the side without any sort of locking mechanism AT ALL.

SO again, let me just accept it and move on. Hehehe!
By the way, you noticed how the "jet head" is pegged to Overlordnb's back? You could actually remove it and give him the iconic Overlord look.

The "jet head" is on some sort of hook peg that you could easily remove. Swivel it to see the hook. Then just take off the fin from his left arm to reveal a peg hole. Notice that the "jet head" has a half-peg that slots perfectly into his left arm then...

Overlordnb is happy! (Alternate head applied).
CONCLUSION
To cap this off, there were really no expectations when I bought this figure. It's good to have, but not a must-have, so to speak. Personally, I really like the figure solely for its bot mode. It's very playable and you could actually start a collection with like-sized figs I'll be reviewing later on (although in TF lore, Overlordnb should actually be the Shaquille O'Neal of Transformers).

So should you get him? Probably.
That's it for my NBF Overlordnb review!
My rating: 6/10
