Hi and welcome to my Mech Fans Toys Megotroun review! This completes my oversized KO triumvirate of Decepticon leaders including
Galvontron and
Overlordnb. This guy is a direct copy of a third party Transformers version of
DX9 X13 War in Pocket Mightron.
As some of you probably noticed, I'm currently experimenting with the photos a little bit with the hopes of giving a more efficient loading experience.
As mentioned in my previous posts, I got this guy for a good bargain!

MEGOTROUN!!![/caption]
The mighty, mini MEGOTROUN! This guy stands at about 6 inches tall. I was super excited to take him out of the box 'cause I really knew this would be an excellent figure!
NOTE: this figure DOES NOT have any Decepticon decals whatsoever. Again, I went ahead and placed a Decepticon decal kit I bought online for around $3.00.

Classic Megotroun kibble[/caption]
The detailing on this guy is surprisingly excellent. He is a good miniature representation of Megatron in all his G1 glory. Again, we have to give the credit to DX9 since they were the ones who did the blueprint on this figure. Most of the time, these things started out from prototypes and leakages happened somewhere along the way...
Enough about that!
Let's go to articulation: he has a good amount of joints that give him excellent poseability! The only down side is his big shoulders/biceps get in the way of upward arm bends and that's just it.
[caption id="attachment_845" align="aligncenter" width="532"]

So, will you buy me?![/caption]
As for his accessories, let's take a look. I'll start with replacing the face plate which just sits on a simple peg that easily pops off.

Here's the new face with the energy sword accessory! The energy sword has two pieces composed of the handle and the energy 'blade'.

Now we have Megotroun's infamous pistol used to kill prime (which is actually Blitzwing's gun!!!). You can also attach the blade from the energy sword.
[caption id="attachment_849" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

The infamous 'gun of betrayal'[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_850" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

Fiiiire![/caption]
I guess Megotroun's pretty happy with all the accessories he comes with. YOU CAN, TOO!
[caption id="attachment_851" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

with the energon mace![/caption]
[caption id="attachment_853" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

Energon mace has a chain that is movable.[/caption]
Now we have the mind control helmet. See the little hole on the left? That's a peg for the mic. Unfortunately, I lost the mic which was supposed to be inside the zip bags of the instruction booklet... Or I never had it. I'll never know :(
[caption id="attachment_854" align="aligncenter" width="532"]

Nice detailing[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_855" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

Megotroun still likes it, though[/caption]

It's the same helmet Megatron used to control the Prime clone in the episode, 'A Prime Problem'.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="600"]

Image from TFWiki[/caption]
Now we have the Key to Vector Sigma that he unfortunately can't hold. The key has a nice paint and detail to it!
[caption id="attachment_857" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

He holds the key to Vector Sigma![/caption]
Then lastly, we can combine the silencer and stock that can turn into a stand and cannon plus attaching his arm cannon for a...
Super cannon?
[caption id="attachment_858" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

Super cannon![/caption]
[caption id="attachment_859" align="aligncenter" width="532"]

Destroooy![/caption]
Let's move on to the...
ALT MODE (Pistol)
His alt mode is complex but ends up easy once you get the hand of it. If you have the MP-5 Megatron, there's a tinge of similarity to the transformation principle although this is far easier.
[caption id="attachment_836" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

Alt mode[/caption]
Check out more details of the alt mode sans the accessories:

[caption id="attachment_843" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

Here it is with the silencer and stock attached[/caption]
Over all, the pistol alt mode is a super nice rendition. Albeit small, it has a nice grip on your hand. Just don't look for a spring action on the trigger as it just has a friction joint. So it's just a 'pew!' instead of 'pew! pew! pew!'
It's also very sturdy. Nothing falls off, the panels align almost perfectly. It's very crisp!
CONCLUSION
To cap off this Mech Fans Toys Megotroun review, should you get it?! HELL, YES! Suffice to say, DX9 did a hell of a job to make a cool miniature Megatron.
The only gripe I (and most collectors that own this fig) have about this figure is this:
[caption id="attachment_860" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

TORSO PROBLEM![/caption]
This is pretty much a friction-based attachment but sadly, there's nothing that holds the torso down firmly. But other than that, it's a great, great figure that is a total must-have for any Megatron collection!
Again, should you get it? HELL YES!!!

Adios![/caption]
My rating 9.8/10
